After huge competition in Indian smartphone market and not getting a good response from user Micromax wanted to stand in market again. No doubt that company has good control in low range and little coverage in mid range too. The company had recently launched Canvas 6. The Canvas is very popular series of Micromax. Let’s see weather raise its flag again in market or not.

Look and Design: (Rating 3.5/5)
In design section the main highlight of company is its unibody metallic design and fingerprint sensor. But it is not too heavy which we like most. This phone has well finished body and in first sense it look classy and slim. The phone has sharp lines along the edges, in stark contrast to the Canvas 6 Pro's design.
The phone contains power and volume toggle buttons on right edge, and a hybrid SIM-storage slot on the left side. There’s an audio jack on top, and speaker grilles and microUSB port on the lower edge.
Turn it around the metal chassis with a reflective coating contains new Micromax logo on the lower side and a rear snapper, LED and fingerprint scanner on the upper side.  Overall, the Canvas 6 is a good-looking phone and doesn't seem out of place in today's times. But unfortunately it lacks any protective glasses which decrease it’s rating in design section.

Display:  (Rating 4.5/5)
The device contains 5.5-inch IPS display gets a full-HD resolution. The pictures are sharp and colours are vivid. In strong sunlight the display also do a brilliant job . The device can handle a Full HD as well as a 720p video quite well. Viewing angles are good, and it seemed good even in bright sunlight. There is not much to complain when it comes to the display.

Specifications
The heart of phone contains powerful 2 GHz octa-core SoC from MediaTek (MT6753T) with 3 GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. The internal storage can be boosted by up to 128GB using a microSD in hybrid slot. Other specifications are fairly standard: Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n, USB OTG, GPS, FM radio and 4G LTE for both SIM slots. There is not too special or too less to talk about specifications.

Software : ( Rating 3.5/5)
We are really disappointed Android version. We by heart expected 6.0 Marshmallow but company turned back 5.1 Lollipop. The custom interface is almost similar to Android's interface. It's interface remind us Moto X. Both are similar but have slightly different icons. It comes with pre-installed apps such as Gaana, Amazon Kindle, Opera Max and Mini apps and M! Live. An interesting service named  Micromax's Around which can be reached by swiping right from the first home screen is also present with other apps. It lets you order food, book a cab, book flights and accommodation, and even recharge your mobile, data and DTH services that have partnered with Micromax. This service increased its rating in software section.  Also it has VuLiv that lets you store all photos, videos and so on, alongside the gallery.

Camera :( Rating 3.5/5)
The canvas 6 packs 13 MP rear camera with Phase Detection Autofocus and 8 MP front camera for selfie. The performance of camera in low light is good but there is nominal lack of detail and it gets more in low light. There is also a shutter lag, which gets worse in low light. The device comes with the HDR feature that worked quite well. We can say that  HDR feature increase details in Macros fare better as the sensor is able to get capture good detail. We expected such good detail in low light but our expectations goes to dustbin when we click pictures in night. In low light performance is below average.
Coming to front camera. Front camera does good job but nothing great about it. Coming to the camera app, the user interface is decent and all the features are handy, right there. However, this may differ from person to person as some may find it cluttered. There is motion tracking and a feature called Live Photo that shoots a quick 7-second clip. Let’s us not forget the beautification feature, but most of these seemed like a gimmick. It lets you manually set exposure and there are modes like Sunset, Party, Auto, Night and so on. You will also find Face detection, Anti-shake, Shutter sound and so on, that can again be tweaked manually. Video recording maxes out at 1080p but the quality is strictly average at best.

Performance :(Rating 3.5/5)
The performance contains several things such as calling, multitasking, heating problem etc. Let’s start from the most basic features of mobile phones that is calling. The calling feature is just said to OK and calling app is also fine. Now in multitasking, it works smoothly for the user but after sometime of continue multitasking we found lack of smoothness during calling and even after sometime it gets heated. This heating problem we feel during charging also.

App performance is pretty good too as we got a score of 36,996 in AnTuTu, which surprisingly, is more than what the Canvas 6 Pro delivered. Scores from other benchmarks were considerably lower, however, and 3DMark Ice Storm Extreme returned 4361 points while GFXbench managed to churn out only 13fps. In the real world, we didn't face any issues when playing games like Dead Trigger 2. Micromax uses the Gaana app for streaming as well as playing your local music files. Audio quality is decent through the mono speaker and strictly average with the bundled headset. There are also equalizer presets to play around with.

Battery : (Rating 4/5)
The 3000mAh battery managed 8 hours and 32  minutes in our video loop test. On an average use, one should be easily able to get through a day.

Conclusion: (Overall Rating 3.5/5)
If Micromax is looking to make a comeback of sorts with a new image, then it has succeeded to a great extend. The Canvas 6, priced at Rs 13,999, has the classy look with a metal body, inclusion of fingerprint scanner, and a good display working in its favour. However, on the other hand, the camera still leaves a large room for improvement and the fingerprint scanner seems buggy at times, and the device doesn’t offer a buttery smooth performance.
