China's smartphone maker Oppo has launched its latest handset F15 in the Indian market. It has a quad rear camera and AMOLED display. Also, it has a water-drop notch. Apart from this, 8 GB RAM has been made available in the phone including EIS and hardware based anti-shake technology. It also has many preloaded gaming features. It has features like Game Boost 2.0, Gaming Voice Changer and In-Game Noise Cancelling Effects. It also has an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Price and launch offers of Oppo F15: Its 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variants are priced at Rs 19,990. It has been made available in Lightning Black and Unicorn White color. It can be pre-ordered from e-commerce website Amazon.in, Flipkart and Oppo India online store. Its first sale will be held on January 24. Talking about launch offers, Oppo F15 will be given one-time screen replacement and 10 percent cashback to HDFC card users.

Features of Oppo F15: This phone comes with dual sim support. It works on ColorOS 6.1.2 based on Android 9 Pie. It has a 6.4-inch full HD Plus AMOLED display with a pixel resolution of 1080x2400. Corning Gorilla Glass has been protected on this. Also, in-display fingerprint 3.0 has been given, which is 45 percent faster than the old version. This phone is equipped with an octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 processor and 8 GB RAM. It has a Mali G72 MP3 GPU. 128 GB internal storage is also provided in the phone, which can be increased to 256 GB via microSD card.

The quad rear camera setup is present in the phone for photography. Its primary sensor is 48 megapixels, which has an aperture of f / 1.79. At the same time, the second is 8 megapixels, whose aperture is f / 2.25. It is an ultra-wide-angle lens. The remaining two sensors are 2 megapixels. It captures portrait and monochrome shots. Their aperture is f / 2.4. At the same time, the phone has a 16-megapixel sensor for selfie, which comes with f / 2.0 aperture.

This phone has camera AI video beautification and gender / edge detection feature. Also, Night Portrait Mode and Bokeh Mode are also given in the phone. For connectivity, features like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS / A-GPS, USB Type-C and 3.5mm headphone jack are also provided in the phone. To give power to the phone, a 4000 mAh battery has been provided which comes with VOOC 3.0 fast charging technology.

Oppo now has a market share of 23.6 percent, with many smartphones focused on this selfie-centric audience. The company’s latest smartphone, the Oppo F3 features dual front-facing cameras, allowing you to capture selfies and wide-angle group photos.

Keeping up with the trend, the company had a good run with its selfie-centric smartphones starting from OPPO F1 and F1 Plus. While more companies concentrate online, OPPO is one company which also gives importance to offline, which in turn has helped them gained an edge.

The F3 is Oppo’s second smartphone after Oppo F3 Plus to come with dual front cameras. While the F3 Plus is priced at Rs 30,999, the F3 is more aggressively priced at Rs 19,990. Its closest competitors are the Gionee A1, Vivo V5s and Vivo V5 Plus.

Can Oppo F3 be first choice of selfie lover ?

Look And Design

The Oppo F3 features a unibody design, but unlike the F3 Plus that features an all-metal back panel, the F3 comes with a sturdy polycarbonate body with a metallic finish. The 5.5-inch display with slim borders on either side makes it easy to use this phone one-handed, however the notification shade is still a bit of reach even for those with large hands. The sides of the display don’t blend with the body very smoothly, and the pre-applied screen protector gets in the way every time you swipe left or right. Just like other OPPO F-series smartphones, the look of the F3 is top notch with brilliant attention to detail. Moreover, the mobile feels good to hold and offers a comfortable grip ergonomically.

If you’ve use the Oppo F3 Plus or at least held it, then you’ll instantly appreciate the smaller size of the Oppo F3. The phone is fairly slim at 7.3mm and light at 153 grams. It's a lot more pocketable compared to its more expensive 6-inch sibling. On the front, you have a 5.5-inch full HD display with 2.5D curved glass. Above the display, you have the dual-camera module, an earpiece and the ambient light sensor. Below the display, you have the capacitive Android navigation buttons for back and app switcher, and a non-clickable home button that also doubles up as a fingerprint sensor. The volume rocker is placed on the left, the power / sleep button is placed on the right, while the 3.5mm audio jack and microUSB port are at the bottom. The dual SIM-card tray is placed on the right, just above the power button, and one of the best things about the tray is that it accepts two nano SIM cards and has a separate microSD card slot, which is a pretty good setup compared to the hybrid SIM-card slots seen on most smartphones.

Specifications

This is obvious that if there is cut in price then there will cut in other things like specifications of software. Same happened with F3, but the choice of SoC is slightly disappointing. The F3 is stuck with an octa-core MediaTek MT6750T SoC, which is a mild refresh of the MT6750 seen on the Oppo F1s. The phone also has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which is plenty for today's apps and games. Other specifications include Bluetooth 4.0, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, USB-OTG, GPS, a proximity sensor, a compass, and a gyroscope. There’s also support for 4G with VoLTE, but this phone lacks FM radio. In today’s world FM is not more important so don’t have any issue with it.

Software

The OPPO F3 is shipped with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Color OS 3.0 on top. Seriously, Marshmallow. We didn’t expect that. This almost out dated version. This is Nougat era.

Just like other Chinese UI’s, the Color OS doesn’t come with app drawer and looks more of iOS interface. Users can arrange their apps on the home screen as per their preference and also group them into folders. Pulling down the notification shade only shows you quick settings toggle switches, and you have to swipe right to get to your notifications, which can be annoying. The drop-down notification bar has several toggles, a shortcut for settings and lets you to adjust the brightness using the slider. When you swipe right on the notification panel, it will take you to the page where you can access all the notifications. There are built-in tools available to free up the storage, free RAM and optimize the performance as well. It also has a virus scanner that protects the device from malicious software and files. Oppo also has its lockscreen magazine, which when enabled, cycles through different wallpapers. O-Cloud is for backing up your contacts and messages, and there's a custom app store for curated apps. Other preloaded apps include Google’s suite, Facebook, Instagram, Amazon, and WPS Office.

Performance

The OPPO F3 comes powered by Octa-Core MediaTek MT6750T 64-bit processor clocked at 1.5GHz with Mali T860 as GPU taking care of graphic department. Performance is good without any stutter or lag during our casual usage. It also handles multitasking pretty well too. Like majority of smartphone, it gets a bit warm while gaming or watching videos for an extended period of time.

We also tried several games including Asphalt, Clash of Clans, Subway Surfers, and the graphics were good.

It has its own dialing app offering an access to contacts at the bottom. It has a Touchpad for OPPO keyboard by default and it’s pretty good to use as well. If you want you can also change the keyboard too. The Earpiece volume is loud enough to hear even when you are in the noisy environment.

The OPPO F3 has a fingerprint sensor on the front just below the display. His placement of fingerprint sensor can be good for some people and can be bad for other but according to us it is best placement of the fingerprint sensor , since it’s where your thumb finger rests on it every time. The home button is not clickable because fringerprint sensor is integrated in it. As usual, the fingerprint sensor is quick to unlock the phone immediately when you place your finger on it. Apart from unlocking, you can also use the fingerprint scanner for App encryption and to keep your important files safe.

Camera

Moving on to the highlight of the Oppo F3, the dual front-facing cameras. The smartphone uses two cameras – a combination of a 16-megapixel camera for selfies, along with an 8-megapixel sensor with 120-degree wide-angle view for group selfies.

The camera app interface is slick with the flash, HDR and photo mode toggles at the top, while the bottom half has the gallery shortcut, shutter button and camera mode switcher button for single or dual-camera mode. You can swipe left to right to switch between beauty, panorama, time-lapse and video modes.

Coming to quality of camera ,the images are brilliant with lots of detailing and good color reproduction. Unlike Vivo V5 Plus, which offers a depth of field on its secondary camera, OPPO opted for a wide-angle lens with 120-degree field of view, making it more special for those who clicks group selfies often. The quality of images is not as good with the secondary front camera as it is with the primary one, especially in low light, but it’s acceptable. The screen flash really helps in reducing noise from faces but there's no escaping noise in the background of a shot.

The Oppo F3 comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase detection auto-focus (PDAF) and an f/2.2 aperture. Focusing is quick in good lighting although we noticed that the speed dips a bit in low light. The camera is an average performer, day light shots look decent at times, but under harsh sunlight, the photos tend to look overexposed as the camera module fails to capture enough information. Other times, photos appear dull, even in bright outdoor conditions. Under low light, the camera is able to capture just bearable shots, but some graininess is easily visible.

Battery

The OPPO F3 comes with 3200mAh battery . The OPPO F3 offers amazing battery life .We easily managed to power this phone through a full day’s worth of regular usage.

On a full charge, it easily lasts for a day with heavy usage including, 4G calls, gaming, browsing and of course the selfies. It also has a low power mode that extends the phone usage time by cutting down the apps, reducing brightness and lock screen time and other connectivity options.

Conclusion

On the whole, the Oppo F3 is a decent smartphone that comes with a sturdy design and build quality, plenty of onboard storage (64GB) and RAM (4GB), a quick and reliable fingerprint sensor, all at a competitive price of Rs 19,990. However, there isn’t much competition right now as it's the only smartphone in this segment with this sort of dual camera feature. If that doesn't matter and you’re looking for a bit more power under the hood, then you always have the Moto G5 Plus. The Oppo F3 is a good upgrade over the Oppo F1s, but there are areas that could have used some improvement. FM radio is still absent. The rear camera performance is average at best. For those looking to buy a smartphone that lets you click good selfies and group selfies, while offering acceptable overall performance, the Oppo F3 could be a good option. Otherwise there are many good smartphone available in market and you can choose according to your need.

After Asus , Oppo had launched a new series of smartphone centered at camera named “F series” launched in January. They also tried to give this series a premium look in budget. Recently launched its camera centric smartphone called the F1 'selfie expert' in India at Rs 15,999 (246$). Our editor was very exited about this phone so we spent a lot time with the smartphone to find out if it just looks and feels premium or does it offer something more. Here is our detailed review.
Look and Design
Oppo had completed their goal by giving F1 a premium looking design that comes with an aluminium body along with plastic frame. The back panel of the smartphone, which is non-removable, packs the 13MP primary camera along with the LED flash, speaker and very big Oppo logo. Looking at its design it can be said that Oppo had tried to give it a classic old look. The Oppo F1 has various colour choice as it available in Gold and Rose Gold, however the choice is only with back ,front face will be white in both cases. The Dual-SIM tray is placed on the right . The most ridiculous thing is that it is hybrid type, so you'll have to choose between a second SIM and a microSD card.
We love the fact that, the company had managed to maintain its weight with around 134g, it's very lightweight. The phone fits very well in your palm, with a comfortable. The overall classic design design comes after very long time in any smartphone. But this design looks great give it premium look.
Display
Coming to the display, the phone has 720p IPS LCD display but we expected 1080 p display but it does a good job. While the colour reproduction for the price is good, phone perform well in night but in day light it has slightly low brigtness. Also, the viewing angles could have been better. Apart from this the touch was fairly responsive and the images appeared fairly sharp.
Specifications
Oppo F1 one of the few smartphone available in the market which comes with new octa-core SoC from Qualcomm which is very similar to the now-common Snapdragon 615 processor, but runs at a slightly greater speed. It's the lower-power Cortex-A53 cores that run at 1.2GHz. Other specifications involves 3GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, support for up to 128GB microSD cards, and 4G VoLTE on band 1, 3 and 40. In terms of connectivity, it packs Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG, FM radio, and GPS but there is a lack of NFC.
Software
The Oppo F1 runs an Android Lollipop and runs on one of the best custom functional fork called Color OS (2.1). We are not happy with lollipop as we expected marshmallow.
It's a single-layered interface that can be customised with different effects and themes. Oppo also packs some useful apps such as O-Cloud, which lets you back up your contacts and messages ;Security Center for monitoring data usage, freeing up memory etc.; Kingsoft Office for working on documents and spreadsheets; and Theme Store for customising the phone.
Camera
Coming to main attraction of phone . The phone has a 13MP primary camera that is capable of taking some very nice shots. Front camera give crisp detailed image in day light but in low light it gives a little shakey image with lack of little details but overall low light performance is better than phones like Lenovo Vibe K4 note. The quality of low light image increase by HDDR mode.
Coming to main highlight of this smartphone that is 8 megapixel front camera for which company said it the salfie expert. The company had showed that they are mainly concentrated at front camera by making its aperture wider than rear. It manages to capture fairly detailed selfies under natural and artificial light while the quality dips a bit in low light.
Company had added some new features like palm shutter which help you to take pics by looking at tour palm and "Beautify" filter to take care of those skin blemishes. Apart from the usual modes, the camera app in Oppo F1 is capable of shooting GIFs, slow motion videos, audio photos, double exposure photos etc.
Performance
General performance of Oppo F1 us brilliant. The best part which is very rare in smartphone is smooth multitasking. There is no heating problem with phone while using 4g and general apps but during continues video play it become slightly warm. We don’t want to take this problem seriously.
As expected the there is huge jump in AnTuTu bencmark as it gave us a score of 35,530. On hand performance , as we had told earlier , is brilliant. We did not face any problem in playing heavy games like Asfalt. We slightly disappointed that company had given 2GB RAM instead of 3 GB. We did not write much about performance because it is solid performing phone .
Battery
This phone packs a battery of 2500mAh which ends up to 8 hr 40 min in our video loop test. During general use battery works good even 4G and it totally lasts in about 2 days . Sadly there is no quick charging feature so you have wait a long time specially in last few percentage.
Conclusion
General performance is good including camera, and both the front and rear cameras deliver good quality in most lighting conditions. Battery life is also solid, given the moderate capacity. So its price is good talking all this feature.

It's been a couple of years since Oppo entered the Indian market and since then, the company has managed to capture the attention of buyers with unique smartphones, right from the swivelling camera on the Oppo N1to India's first Quad-HD display on the Oppo Find 7. Its most recent launch is the brand new Oppo R7 Lite, a mid-range offering priced at Rs.18,000.

This is a tough segment to compete in, as we have the recently launched OnePlus X, the Gionee Elife S7 from earlier in the year, and the crowd favourite Motorola Moto X Play - all hovering around the same price point. The R7 Lite is the smaller sibling of the Oppo R7 Plus and our initial impressions of both the phones were on the positive side. Let's find out if our initial thoughts hold true once we've put it through the grind.

Look and feel
The build and finish of the R7 Lite is quite impressive thanks to quality materials used in the construction. The body is made up of a single piece of aluminium that has undergone multiple polishing processes to give it a satin finish. The buttons feel equally premium and have good tactile feedback. Oppo has managed to keep the thickness of the phone down to 6.3mm and it is fairly light too at 143g.

The display gets a 2.5D arc treatment which means the edges are curved a bit for a smoother feel. In the front, we have a 5-inch HD Amoled display (720x1280) that's protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The resolution is a bit low when you consider that most offerings in this price bracket now sport full-HD displays. Despite this, the pixel density is sufficiently high so you don't get any annoying jaggedness in text and icons. Colour reproduction and sunlight legibility are also quite good.

The volume rocker and power buttons are placed on opposite sides. The SIM and microSD card tray sits on the right while the headphone socket and Micro-USB port take their place on the top and bottom respectively. You get a notification LED hidden in the upper left corner. The capacitive buttons at the bottom are sadly not backlit.

Around the back, we have a 13-megapixel primary shooter, a single LED flash and the speaker at the bottom. To avoid sound getting muffled when the phone is placed on a flat surface, Oppo has added a tiny nub at the bottom which raises it slightly.

The Oppo R7 Lite is very pocketable, which makes single-handed use possible most of the time. It's incredibly slim and feels very durable despite its dainty looks. The aluminium sides can be slippery but this can be circumvented with the bundled silicon case. It's a slim cover which is barely noticeable and doesn't ruin the look of the phone. Also in the box are a charger, a data cable, a SIM ejector tool, manuals, and a headset. The phone is available in gold and silver but there's no option for a black front facia.

Specifications and software
The core specifications are very much in line with the Moto X Play. You get an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, microSD card support of up to 128GB, and 4G LTE support. You also get Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG and GPS. There's no NFC or FM radio. The R7 Lite uses a hybrid Dual-SIM system so you can either have two SIM cards or one SIM and a microSD card.

The Oppo R7 Lite runs Colour OS 2.1 which is a heavily modified skin for Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Not much has changed, visually at least, since we first saw it running on the Oppo N1. There are ton of possible customisations, from transition effects to themes. The notifications shade also gets a new look, and in addition to the usual toggle switches, there's 'Eye protection' to reduce blue light output.

The stock launcher has a single-layered design so all apps are laid out across multiple screens. Thankfully, Oppo pre-groups all Google apps so the result is not a huge mess. Other apps include Weather, File Manager, Kingsoft Office Suite, and System Update.

Oppo also bundles some of its own apps. O-Cloud lets you back up your contacts and SMSes to the cloud. Security Center consolidates multiple functions such as freeing up memory, data monitoring, blocking contacts, setting privacy permissions for apps, battery saving modes and a do-not-disturb feature. The Settings app contains additional controls for gestures and motion-based shortcuts.

Overall, Colour OS is one of our preferred custom Android solutions. There isn't a lot of bloatware and most of the pre-installed apps are actually useful.

Performance
The Oppo R7 Lite is speedy at routine tasks. We didn't notice any stutter or slow-downs in the animations or when switching between apps. The phone easily handled heavy games such as Dead Trigger 2. Even with rigorous use, the phone would get only slightly warm, and this was with the silicon cover on. Call quality was also good and the R7 Lite easily latched on to 4G networks whenever possible.

We got a score of 34,263 in AnTuTu and 8,735 in 3DMark Ice Storm. GFXbench also returned a satisfying 20fps. Overall, these are pretty decent numbers for this price segment.

The phone also handles media files very well, including our high-bitrate full-HD video file. Colours are rich and vibrant thanks to the Amoled panel. The sound from the rear speaker isn't great when watching movies or listening to music but is adequate for incoming alerts. The bundled headset isn't that good either, as the sound is quite weak and the earphones aren't very comfortable to wear.

The combination of the camera app and the 13-megapixel sensor makes taking photos great fun. The interface is clean and all the options are neatly hidden away under a single menu button. Focusing speed is good under favourable lighting but it slows down a bit in low light. The phone is also very quick in capturing and saving pictures with minimal shutter lag. Burst mode works well. Our one little niggle is that some of the text and sub-menus don't change orientation when shooting in landscape mode, which is a little distracting when you're trying to frame a shot and are forced to turn the phone around again.

Oppo offers a useful variety of shooting modes which can be really fun to experiment with. Slow Shutter helps you with long exposure shots - you can keep the shutter open for up to 16 seconds. Ultra HD mode lets you output either a 24-megapixel or a 50-megapixel image. Images captured in this mode are smoother than those taken in standard mode, which is handy if you wish to crop portions of them later on. Edges around objects are less harsh without losing much detail which makes it good for landscapes. We recommend shooting at the 24-megapixel setting as the file size isn't too bloated and there isn't any noticeable quality difference between this and the higher resolution. There's another mode which lets you save in RAW format.

Super Macro is yet another useful mode for close up of small objects. Expert Mode gives you manual controls for shutter speed, ISO, exposure compensation, focus and white balance. Unfortunately, the values of the sliders don't rotate to landscape mode so you'll have to use this in portrait.

Video recording maxes out at 1080p and while the quality is good, there's isn't any form of electronic stabilisation so even minor movements makes the video very shaky. For video, you only get Time-lapse and Slow-mo. The slow motion video resolution is restricted to 480p.

Landscapes shots unde natural light are good, especially with Ultra HD mode. The same goes for macro shots, as the camera manages to capture good detail and colours are fairly accurate. However, there's noticeable noise in pictures taken in low light. Indoor shots under artificial lighting are also not the best as there's noticeable graininess. The front-facing 8-megapixel camera supports autofocus and captures decent details.

The Oppo R7 Lite manages to deliver very good battery life despite its seemingly low-capacity 2320mAh battery. We got 11 hours and 57 minutes in our video loop test, which is good. With regular use, we easily managed to go up to day and half with a bit of gaming, a few calls, and 4G usage.

Conclusion
The Oppo R7 Lite turned out to be quite a firecracker in a slim package. The aluminium build and overall finish are superb, the display produces rich and vibrant colours, overall system performance is speedy, and it has good battery life as well. It also doesn't hurt that it's slim and lightweight. Things which could use some improvement are the camera app and low-light performance. It wouldn't have hurt to throw in NFC and FM radio. Finally, you have to remember that this is a hybrid Dual-SIM phone, which means a microSD card cannot be used if you insert the second SIM.

Between the Oppo R7 Lite and the Gionee Elife S7, this phone comes across as a better all-rounder. Choosing between the R7 Lite and the Motorola Moto X Play is a little more tricky, because the latter promises timely software updates, a higher resolution display and slightly better all-round performance. However, the Oppo has its slimmer metal body.

The R7 Lite's display resolution might be inferior to that of the Moto X Play and most other phones in this price segment, but you'll barely be able to tell the difference in the real world. In this regard, the R7 Lite makes a very good alternative to the Moto X Play.
