Indian Smartphone market with only 4G or with 5G also ?

Last year, 5G service has started in some countries of the world. Indian users have also been eagerly waiting for this superfast next-generation network technology since last year. However, this year many smartphone maker companies including OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi, OnePlus are going to launch their 4G as well as 5G smartphones in India this year. These smartphones can be launched in the first quarter of the year. Last year Samsung launched its 5G smartphone in US countries including South Korea. Apart from this, Huawei and Vivo have also launched their 5G smartphones. In India, 5G spectrum can be auctioned between April and June this year. After this, a trial of service can be started.

Researchers at global research firm TechArc believe that 15 to 18 models could be launched this year with the 5G network feature. These smartphones can be launched in India in the price range of Rs 30,000. According to an International Data Corporation (IDC) report, keeping in mind the affordability factor, the company may launch both 4G and 5G models in India this year. At the same time, next year, smartphone maker companies can launch full flexed 5G smartphones.
Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi had said in its statement a few days ago that it can launch about 10 5G smartphones globally this year. At the same time, OPPO, Vivo, OnePlus and Samsung have set the timeline for their 5G smartphones this year. According to TechArc, 1.5 million or more than 1.5 million 5G smartphones can be shipped in India this year. However, this figure is just 1 per cent of the total smartphone sold in India.



Talking about the global market, Samsung, OnePlus, Huawei, Vivo, OPPO and Micromax are already selling their 5G smartphones in America, Australia and Europe. At the same time, chipset makers Qualcomm, MediaTek, Samsung and Huawei are also designing their fast and 5G compatible chipsets, which work at low latency. Talking about the Indian premium market, OnePlus has also started to export 5G smartphones pilotly in the Indian market. According to Qualcomm, 5G ready smartphones will start shipping in India in the next two quarters.
